One of the many issues plaguing a vast spectrum of our society – an issue that spans age, gender, lifestyle, and health status – is poor or inconsistent sleep quality.

The benefits of a good night’s sleep reach far and wide as a key factor in helping maintainoverall health and well-being. More than simply altering your energy levels, a lack of deep, quality sleep results in a change in brain activity, immune response, organ function and even gene expression. Surprising, isn’t it?

Ultimately, our goal in creating our Goodnight formulation was to attempt to tackle this burden in the same way that we have tackled other issues – transdermally. In that respect, we feel that we’ve hit the nail directly on the head.

Melatonin
Melatonin as a nutritional supplement is probably best known for its use as a sleep promoter – which is certainly one of the reasons we selected it for our formula. This vital hormone is also a prevalent and powerfulantioxidant with a multitude of uses ranging from anti-aging hormone, to immune booster, to radiationprotector.

On top of the more common uses, melatonin has also been used effectively by physicians and clinical researchers in the treatment of some mood disorders, migraines, and even a number of neurological issuessuch as periodic leg movement.

In bygone days, when plant derivatives were the only way to obtain extraneous sources of chemicals like melatonin, flora such as Feverfew and St. John’s Wart were used in tinctures, tonics, and topical salves and packs. Although the majority of research involving the topical use of melatonin involves its direct antioxidant benefits pertaining to skin health, evidence of deeper influence from transdermal absorption is stacking up.

MSM & Magnesium
Ever since we began a more in depth study of methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) on our journey to creating ourUltra formula, we’ve been taken in by the sheer multitude of uses for this valuable compound.

Despite our use of MSM primarily as a means to help increase skin permeability and absorption, it has also been used successfully in sleep studies as a means to relieve respiratory issues such as snoring and sleep apnea.

And lastly, it shouldn’t be any wonder that our magnesium makes for the ideal “base” to this formula. Given its ability to help relax the body from muscles to nerves while also aiding in the production and regulation of those hormone “puppet-strings” of sleep, topical magnesium is already capable of significantly impacting sleep quality.

By combining these three ingredients into a topical application, we’re confident that we’ve found a potent and efficacious means of delivering a better night’s sleep.
